This is an entry to Calary Cosplay's colouring contest [link]
It is an adaptation on the Fox hoodie, there is very little change to how the hoodie is made, except a slight change to the shape of the hood at making it more pointed at the top, and no tail. The rest of the changes are just in its decoration and colouring.
... I think I'm going to try to make this ... I already have most of it planned out, the only problem is the ears may be a little tricky, along with the way the hood is shaped. I just have one question, may I change the design just a little? I'm still gonna try to add the ears, but I also wanted to put a tail on it, and I think I may skip shaping the hood with a point if I can't find a way to pull it off without making it unravel ... do I have permission?
Hi, As much as i do not mind you changing my design, i do mind that you are asking permission to change it, rather then asking permission to use it to begin with.
I do let people using my work, however because i am do not produce stock work, that other people are free to dip into as they please, I do require that people ask first so that i can decided wether to allow permission to use it. As i am a working artist depending on the situation i request payment, and often refuse entirely. So that you will understand i am a little offended that you have gone ahead and planned this without taking the time to find out wether you can or not first.
This is not an absolute no, but i do request that you tell me more about how you are planning to use my design before i allow you permission to use it. If i do decide that you can use the design, then you are free to change any part of it as long as you make sure I am still credited and it is stated that alterations where made by you.
I understand completely. My apologies for planning before permission, but I simply wanted to have it all laid out in my mind so I'd be ready, and know exactly what I'd be doing and the materials that I would need in case I did get permission to go through with making this. Once again, I apologize for planning ahead.
As far as what I'm doing with your design, I'm not planning to make any profit off of it, I just think it's a beautiful hoodie and I would like one of my own, so I was asking if I could hand-make one at home using materials that I can buy at the local store. There won't be more than one made, and it'll be for myself, not to sell to anyone for any kind of profit whatsoever.
Thanks for the apology. As what your making is for personal use then you can go ahead with it, and your free to make any changes. If it had been to sell or if you where making more then one then obviously it would be a completely different issue .
The only conditions are that you post a photo of the finished product here and deviant, with design credit and a link in the description to my page (And that you send me a link to the photo so i know when its done).
Yay! I'm happy I'll be sure to post a picture of it and credit you, and I'll put a comment on your profile with the picture as soon as I'm done. It might take me a few days to get the supplies though, so it'll be a little while
