Butterflys heartby *daegfire

Artisan Crafts / Folding & Papercraft / Papercutting & Scherenschnitte

This was a christmas gift for my cousin Ceri.
It shows a butterfly flying on birds wings. It took a while to design, and is the first paper cut that i have designed before cutting, using my new Ipad.
I put a lot of thinking in to this design, and it holds much meaning for both me and Ceri.

Most of the time i find xacto kifes arn't sharp enough, and dull really quickly.
I use 10A Swann morton surgical blades and a 3G S/S handle. on average i go though between 5 and 8 blades per paper cut, although this depends on its size and complexity. This image used 6 blades.
